A sequel 8 years in the making.
Rockstar Games sure likes to take its time with sequels. There's little chance we'll see another Grand Theft Auto for years, since GTAV is making billions five years after its release. Red Dead Redemption dropped in 2010, and fans of the western shoot-em-up open world game have been patiently waiting for the sequel. Red Dead Redemption 2 was slated to drop this Spring, but now it's being pushed back until the Fall. Still, Rockstar is in full advertisement mode for the game now that it's gearing up for a release, and they dropped a new trailer to get gamers excited.
The third trailer for the game dives deeper into the plot, and shows off gorgeous environments and epic battles. Via the video description, the plot for the upcoming game goes as follows:
"After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him."
Red Dead Redemption 2 drops October 26 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
