Space Jam 2 is officially set to begin filming this Summer, but it remains to be seen which NBA superstars will be featured alongside LeBron James. The four-time NBA MVP has reportedly had some issues casting "top players" for the film, and it was recently reported that Giannis Antetokounmpo already turned down an opportunity.

While we wait to see how it all shakes out, NBA 2K video editor @Shady00018 has released a Space Jam 2 x NBA 2K mashup trailer which includes a Monstars squad consisting of Carmelo Anthony, Draymond Green, Isaiah Thomas, JaVale McGee and DeMarcus Cousins.

Additionally, the hilarious trailer includes appearances by J.R. Smith and his "Secret Stuff," as well as Travis Scott, Dwyane Wade, Luke Walton and... Michael Rapaport.

Although LeBron will spend some time filming this Summer, he will still be preparing for his next season with the Los Angeles Lakers.

According to The Athletic's Joe Vardon, there are plans to build a full basketball court on the set of Space Jam 2 so the four-time NBA MVP doesn't miss out on his summer training regimen. Michael Jordan did the same when he filmed the original movie.

Despite all of the recent talk about Space Jam 2, the premiere is still a long ways away. Current plans call for the film to hit theaters on July 16, 2021.
